Re: Garmin gWind issues

Re: Garmin gWind issues

Re: Is it right and fair to live aboard a vessel that cannot navigate?

My sailboat is next to a run down ancient trawler that hasn’t moved in 5 years. Paint peeling, blue plastic tarps covering portions of the boat, duct tape holding stuff together. Basically a floating...

Anyone else having problems with their Garmin gWind?

Installed August 2018 onto a new nmea 2000 system. Worked great till Feb 2019. Then it started working intermittently.

Garmin sent out a...

Re: Yacht Instrument wiring

Bite the bullet and get proper marine wire. This is a boat and will be around water. Eventually, your trailer wire is going to corrode and you will end up wiring it again. Especially if youre...

Re: Virgin islands salvage vessels

KemoSabe,
Good luck with your search!

I picked up a demasted boat last year(not from and named storm) from an insurance auction. It sold for an amazing low price for a 10 year old vessel. ...

Re: Total newbie

You state “(the one and only thing I know about sailing is that nothing happens quickly). ”.

You can forget about the “one” thing you know about sailing. There are a multitude of “things” that...

Re: bill of sale, multiple owners, multiple locations

Save yourself some time and trouble. Go to the coastguard website and download their bill of sale. They questioned everything on my original bill of sale. I finally used theirs and documentation...

Anti siphon valve needed?

I recently redid all my fuel lines to my engine. Some research on the subject indicates I may need to add an anti siphon valve to my system.

Boat is a Jeanneau 42DS. Diesel tank is below the...

This last weekend, I motored out of the harbor with no issue. Engine running fine. Sailed all day in vigorous conditions.

Motoring back to...

Re: Yanmar 4JH4AE fuel filter replacement

Kmacdonald - I like your approach with the fleetguard filters. I’m heading back to the boat in 2 weeks. Will see if there’s room for them. They’re much cheaper than the racor and available...

Re: Yanmar 4JH4AE fuel filter replacement

Where did you route the return fuel line? The stock Jeanneau water separating filter has the return line and the fuel tank line in on one side and the output to the fuel pump.

If I get rid of the...
