Measuring for a jib furler on a C&C 27 Mark V

Sailboat is in water right now.The mast head would have to be modified? or is there an attachement available on all Mark V?
On deck, just bolt down with back plate,I suppose?

If you don't have female connectors ,can you solder instead on the existing males on electronic parts?Or would the heat damage inners coils?
