Re: Fish finder on Android tablets with Boating HD in 2019?

Lowrance Hook2 is the first thing that comes to mind.

Re: Fish finder on Android tablets with Boating HD in 2019?

There are many great low cost options. But most don't use a tablet.

Re: Purchase foreign boat, MMSI change?

EPIRB does NOT use MMSI

The AIS and DSC will still work with the old MMSI.

Deactivating an MMSI means there will be no contact information associated with it but it will still show your vessel...

Re: Corrosion and possible leak of condensation (Mercedes OM636)?

Find and fix the source of the problem and then worry about cleaning up the mess.

Re: Replacing Raymarine 7001 control head with 7002 or 8001

As far as I know you can use any SmartPilot Controller with any SmartPilot Computer.

You need to confirm what model computer you have.

Re: Is the radar an obsolete equipment?

I guess two circumnavigations, thirteen Atlantic crossings, and cruising full time for the last ten years doesn't count as "real world experience".

How about rounding the horn? Is that "real...

Re: What to get for preventer on Tayana FD-12

I'd use line but I'm sure chain would do in a pinch.

Re: Is the radar an obsolete equipment?

1. No radar is not obsolete. But it's not as necessary as people seem to think.

2. If your radar works and you want it, keep using it. If it works and you don't want it, sell it; it still has some...

Re: Older boat

Find any boat you like and judge it by its condition not its age. Never let age deter you. My 1985 HR49 is in much better condition than a lot of ten year old boats.

Re: B & G Zeus 3 Won't Turn On

My father owned a used auto parts yard for a long time. He would often fix peoples cars for them. One time he did some repairs on a young mans car in the middle of summer. The young man picked up his...

Re: B & G Zeus 3 Won't Turn On

It's obviously an electrical problem.

Make sure you are getting 12 volts on the red and yellow wires coming from the MFD power cable.

Re: NSS 12 clock problems?

The USCG is not the Better Business Bureau.

Read the thread. The problem is time and date. How is that a hazard?
