Acid etch and look up POR 15. It’s what it’s designed for. Great product.

My sheaves were regular bronze bushings which I replaced with new. I used a light coating on marine grease on mine but some have used winch grease.

Add a background “chevron” of sorts behind the sight tube. The refraction will show you the fluid level without having to add something inside the liquid lines and won’t degrade over time.
