You can curl up to sleep - can't curl up to cook a meal or walk fore and aft in the cabin... Stooping gets VERY old. 6'2" as well. |

Well, I'm the 3rd owner of a 50 year old boat - doesn't mean there isn't a list of things requiring attention/upgrades... A factor perhaps, but I wouldn't elevate it higher than, say, a good survey. |

Not aware of any good ones on LBI proper, but Tices Shoal is a very popular anchorage, and near the Barnegat Bay inlet. |

Looks really good - my only observation is that your load on the cleat is higher up on than if it were closer to the base, as in a traditional tie. This could create leverage against the mounting... |

What type of line is it? Twisted and braided can reduce diameter slightly under tension. |

My advice: Buy the "right boat" irrespective of the location providing transportation to your home port plus expenses is still in budget. |

Fair enough then. Yes, there will be some maintenance, but a durable surface might serve more like a bedliner on a truck than just paint on a hull. |

If you take a boat worth a couple hundred dollars in parts/salvage, perhaps and spend hundreds of hours in sweat equity, plus prices of new or "usable used" items to get it seaworthy and you might... |
