My HD 10 version 2021 seems to have an issue with the internal GPS. Upon start OpenCPN says "Device has internal GPS but is not enabled". Did anyone get that to work?

Either set up your own Wifi router on board or get a GPS Puck that your Macbook can connect to. Those come in USB and Bluetooth flavor.

I checked with my European insurance for my European boat and was told the batteries need to be CE or TÜV certified and all is good.

Insurance is a big deal, you need a policy that covers the entire trip. At least where I sail you can't go in to a marina without it. That may be expensive and/or hard to get. A more "local"...
