Re: Hello from coastal Georgia (USA). Looking for boat recommendations.

My Endeavour 32 meets those requirements. I would think many similar boats would.

You might not fit all 8 people in the cockpit at once, some may have to sit along the cabin top or something. But...

Re: Pearson BT...?

The only thing I can think of is perhaps it refers to the centerboard model ?

A google search came up with nothing. I have never heard of "BT" model myself. Where are you seeing this ?

If you're not too picky and don't care so much about having all your canvas matching colors, you might be able to use something like this...

Re: Prepping puppy for summer sailing

I agree with those advising to start potty training now.

Here is a good product for use on the boat. Start with it now at home.

I also wonder if they might have been for a wind vane style autopilot ?

Just a thought...

Re: Bend in mast issue?

I agree with all those who say if there's no visible damage it will fine.

Go on any boat near that size and pull on one of the lower stays while watching the mast. It bends.

Any stick made out...

Re: Why do cruisers quit cruising?

No, I think I'm one of the poorer ones on here. Even talk of a 50K boat is like visions of sugarplum fairies dancing to me.

I paid 13K for mine, and by the time I'm done with mods and upgrades...

Re: Bahama sailing newbie

I think it's a good plan, BUT - I think you should try a charter with your wife and see if you can learn to like sailing. Or at least like it enough to want to do it. I think a catamaran is probably...

Re: First boat?

I would say rather than buy something go take lessons and charter.

Buying something means selling it later, and it is difficult to not lose money with boats. When you buy there will be things to...

Re: Thru hull counts

Lol, true that !

But my point was more along the lines of 40 years of boating, in and around multiple marinas, blah blah blah, and I have never seen a boat that sank because of a "failed"...

Re: Thru hull counts

I don't think it really matters how many thru-hulls you have but what is their condition ? It's not like there's some award for the least number.

Are we talking just those below the waterline or...

I paid $2600 for mine from the Boatswains' Locker here in Jacksonville Fl. It was installed 4 months ago so the price is very current. I'm very happy with it. Like you I had the frame just needed the...

Re: Dripless shaftseal?

You must have an earlier Endeavour, as my 1980 model has at least a foot of room behind the coupling. I have noticed this before in other conversations. I don't have an answer for you. Yet.

I do...

I plan on getting the ICW and the Bahamas later this year when it gets close to the season. They look very nice, thanks for a great product.

Re: Catalina with unknown mast

I would call Catalina. My understanding is that they are pretty knowledgeable about their own boats. They may have records of your particular hull number.

Worth a try.

Re: Cats (the furry kind) on board

We lived aboard our Catalina 27 for several years when we were still practically newlyweds. We had a cat I had found under the hood of a car. we loved that cat, she lived almost 18 years.

Re: My Coach Top Handrails are rotting

I can't really tell from the picture what level of "rot" we are talking about. Is it actual structural rot or just wear and tear kind of aging ?

If it's rotted of course it must be replaced. If...

Re: Go small and go now?

32 feet is not small to me either. I have an Endeavour 32 and I really would not want to have anything larger. This is all the boat I want to work on. It's all the bottom I want to scrape, all the...
