Re: Alliaura Feeling 55 - thoughts?

As a (sailing) novice, I definitely am not sure! Whats more to handle from say a 45 foot mono/cat? she has bow and stern thrusters, 4 electric winches, 3 furlers, twin engines. I have maneuvered...

Re: Alliaura Feeling 55 - thoughts?

I found an independent report she does 6-7 at 40 deg, and 9-10 knots at 60, with 15kt of wind. Seems respectable to me. You are right about displacement, 44k.

Re: Alliaura Feeling 55 - thoughts?

Valid points about maintenance via size. However no paid crew for us.

My father went from a 47 power to 59 power and I think there is some buyers remorse. But his is wayyyy more complex and...

Re: Alliaura Feeling 55 - thoughts?

Just realized it has a retractable bowsprit and additional furler, but not all rigged up for some reason. I’ve seen another 55 which had 3 head sails furled - went on ARC rally I believe.

Re: Alliaura Feeling 55 - thoughts?

Thanks all for the input. I am still learning and dont have a ton of experience yet. This would represent something we could live on and learn before we set off in.

Alliaura Feeling 55 - thoughts?

Hello All - we have been planning our future adventure, and have decided mostly that we would like a catamaran.. until I came across this boat. It seems quite rare, and I can't find a lot of...

Disappointing stats that you describe.. hopefully it can perform somehow on par with Helia. Love everything else about it.

Re: Why Do Marinas Seem to Hate Liveaboards?

I don't own a boat yet, but have been planning.

I searched locally in So-Cal, and some marinas clearly state they can only accept so many % live-aboard, and the primary reason I found was due to...

There is a newer spot south of Loreto you may try

Puerto Escondido Marine | Boat Services & More (https://puertoescondidomarine.com/)

Not sure for certain he can fit 26’ beam but looks like it.

Re: Nautitech Open 40

FWIW, when I was at the Cannes show, the rep said the 46 Fly suffered noticeably vs 40/46 Open. Boom height was very high. I walked both boats, along with the other MFGs and agreed that the fit and...

Re: Smartgauge vs Mastervolt Easyview-5 vs Simarine Pico

You don't have to translate.. but I am not sure why Bruce says he can't read the rest. On my BMV 702, I just hit the down arrow, and give you SOC, Ah consumed, live current draw, etc etc. Not sure...

Re: New L42 owner - thoughts and questions

Thanks for your feedback. I agree on those sentiments - the forward berth is for a single adult or kids, really. We are new to sailing and without kids, and maybe under-estimate how many crew we...

Re: New L42 owner - thoughts and questions

Yes, understand this, coming from the Airstream world of camping. We have an island bed (at a 90) and one side its easy to get out of bed, the other you have to duck and roll slightly, or scoot.

Re: New L42 owner - thoughts and questions

I was shopping for the same boats you listed. Saw them all in Cannes.. was very surprised at how big the L42 was, especially compared to the Lucia 40, which is top on our list. I am curious, what...

Re: New Lagoon 42 Vs Lucia-40 ?

Thanks for your info. New to the sailing world and the L42 is on our short list in the next few years.

Here is a curious thought from a complete sailing greenhorn, but from someone with some...
