Re: Marina outlaws rowing of dinghy's...

Crown Bay is very tight. Boats leaving the dock need the marina office to provide an "all clear" to permit monohulls and cats to make the very right turns to exit without getting caught in a cross...

Re: 27ft cruising reality

Mike Rutherford circumnavigated the Americas in an Alvin Vega. You'll find lots of info online. You should try emailing him with specific questions.

Re: Hunter - Blue-water or not?

I echo Sailmonkey thoughts. I currently own a 50ft. When problems develop and they will develop, it is both impractical and dangerous to be alone on that size of a boat. In my last trip to Bermuda we...

Re: Aft cabin or V Berth?

V-berth is preferred for all reasons stated above. Having said that- I had progressive difficulties getting in-out of berth when my wife was asleep. With lower back problems, I am very stiff in the...

Re: can a unopened can of anti fouling paint last 10 years

I had a similar situation, where I purchased 2 extra cans of West Marine ablative paint and completely forgot about them for 2 years. They were stored in my basement and the cans looked like new. It...

Re: Life Raft replacement

I purchased and service mine at Life Raft and Survival Equipment in Rhode Island. In the northeast you can drop off your raft at a West Marine and other locations for them to pickup- service-then...

Removing anti-syphon valve

I have a Beneteau Sense 50 with an Onan 6KW genset. Twice this past season, the raw water impeller destroyed itself after ~30-40 hours of use. On both occasions I found a very large amount of seaweed...
