Re: Replacement lens for Aqua Signal f/40 tri color?

I put the Hella Combo light in, and replaced the supplied bulbs with LEDs. No complaints; works fine.

Re: Which Starlink receiver?

The new selection matrix only recommends the HP dish with the mobile plan. So far we have had no issues with the RV plan, but we’ve been on the ICW so far. My friend has a trawler with the RV dish,...

Re: Yacht Delivery Death Traps.

Hey there! Since you’ve done deliveries for such a long time, I’m wondering if you have a checklist you use for the initial contact? I’m curious because I’m sure there are some ways to ferret out...

Re: What is the magic beam for a cat

It seems our friends with 23 ft or greater beams are always scrambling to find a place that can accept them. We are 21.5 and have very few issues finding a place that can fit us. Now whether they...

Blue Courtesy Light String

2017 Lucia 40.

Our port side blue LED string has gone wonky. It appears to have developed a loose/damaged connection about 2 feet along the string from the power wire. Anyone fixed these, or have...

Re: Rudder Bearings

Forgot about this post, sorry. It's like the experiment you did as a kid with lemon and two metal pieces to make a weak battery. Since you have dissimilar metals in an electrolytic environment...

Re: Anchor Lights in a Mooring Field (USA)?

Re: Anchor Lights in a Mooring Field (USA)?

Again, techniques aside; I don't disagree with you - just trying to discern as whether or not it is required by COLREGS. This is a beer/happy hour type question. This mooring field (Annapolis main...

Anchor Lights in a Mooring Field (USA)?

Admittedly, this will evolve into a food fight but hey, it'll be entertaining!

Ok - there are some mooring fields (Titusville, FL USA, and Boot Key, FL USA come to mind) where the controlling...

Re: Hot water heater through an inverter?

Our thought was to use this element, and have our Victron system switch the solar panel supplied energy to the water heater when the batteries go to float mode. It's 12VDC, 600 W.

Re: Rudder Bearings

Replacing the original bearings on my FP Lucia for all the reasons listed above. We are putting Jefa race bearings in to upgrade the system. The Jefa bearings are costing $1270 USD for a pair.

Water Heater switching while on Solar - Victron System

Thanks; I did buy the GX touchscreen as well. Perfect instructions...will make it happen. I’ll write if I have any questions.

Victron Cerbo GX install

Purchased a new CERBO GX online, but the documentation for connecting it is somewhat confusing. It seems to me that everything has to come to the unit and then be distributed outward. Does anyone...

Re: Backing Down on a Mooring?

I was there - maybe for the same storm. A huge Lagoon dragged the mooring back. I think it was a 50’? That was a hell of a storm. We were actually anchored for that one and it stuck “like a gymnast”!...

Re: Backing Down on a Mooring?

It's not that at all. Some places have only mooring fields to use while there, maybe because the anchorage space is completely full - a great example is Treasure Cay in the Abacos or St Augustine,...

We have the same issue with ours - we have the 33kg Rocna, standard water tanks and 2 spare anchors in the anchor locker. Noticed when she is at rest she is slightly down by the head - not as...
