I sold my boat and left Mexico two days before the boarder was closed due to COVID in 2020.

Summers down there can be brutal. I only stayed down there like from Oct 15 thru March 30 each year.

There is a reason(s) about 100% of the commercial fisherman and most sailors use diesel fuel for their stoves heating and cooking. Even though a lot of these guys have a second fuel tank for #1...

I was the #26 responce...
I stayed with the regular stock engine V belt, but put a V belt on that was cogged on the underside of the belt. Boat had 8 each 6 volt, golf cart batteries, flooded.

I upgraded my yanmar with a 125 amp alternator with their Max Charge voltage regulator...was very pleased with the results. Same engine you have.

One other item to think of is to relocate the 120 volt breaker panel to another location.

I do not agree that the 120 volt panel needs to be next to the vessels 12 or 24 volt panels.

Check the housing that goes over the thermostat, that the rubber hose is connected to...sometimes this will plug up with corrosion. Seen this twice.

You have to take it off the hose when its off...
