Quite a journey you've been through, Zach! Now it's time to harvest the crops of your hard work... well, that might've come out wrong? |

Re: Charging LFP dropin questions
You should test it, as it will work! What's the advantage of some hybrid system? |

Re: Charging LFP dropin questions
That's one big alternator! And it's feeding the house bank? From there the DC2DC charger goes to the starter batt? You did take into account that LFPs don't want to be stored at 100% SOC? ... |

Re: Anyone using a DST810?
That sounds rather disappointing. I feel for you. As some mentioned, voltage spikes are arguably the no. 1 killer of those devices. Unless the N2k power supply is properly filtering the input,... |

Re: Perkins 4.236 v-belt/alternator issues
Flogging a dead horse? Thanks Rowglide, only we can't see the alternator at all in that pic. |

Re: Anyone using a DST810?
That might be a bit of overkill compared to a Zener diode. Especially since you don't expect your bus voltage to ever drop that low for the boost converter to kick in just to power your N2k... |

Re: Anyone using a DST810?
A firmware update would fix damaging a MOSFET if there are voltage spikes? That sounds a bit strange. The only way one can imagine such an improvement would be if the MOSFET was not directly... |

Re: "Cheap" LiFePO4 drop-in update
Welcome to the forum, Merlo. Have you considered opening a new thread for your question? My answer would be "no", never heard of them, and 500 EUR for 100Ah@12V sounds quite expensive to me. |

Re: "Cheap" LiFePO4 drop-in update
Thanks for your first hand experiences! And BTW, you mentioned that you charge the LFPs to 14.1V which is not 100% SOC and hence you should be just fine either way. |

Re: OpenCPN and Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.1
Hi Brett, my version 5.0.1 on an M1 crashes after the first window pops up. Their website says supported version are 10-12, Sonoma is 14. I've downloaded their latest version, which is... |

Re: Seizing Wire as Hose Clamp / Clamptite
I'd say the stainless slotted hose clips are the way to go. I didn't even know the spring clips can be pushed to lock open, or I never managed to put one in that position, will have to try next time... |

Re: Solar panel wire versus marine primary wire
