Re: Jammed jib track stopper

From the feel of the stopper it seems that it is most likely due to the spring rather than corrosion.

Re: Jammed jib track stopper

Sorry, I'm having problems uploading the image.
The stoppers are basically sliders that run along the track, and use a sprung retractable stopper(with bolt)mounted on them to locate the slider at...

Jammed jib track stopper

Has anybody found a solution to freeing a jammed Harken jib track stopper?

One of the stoppers on the jib track on my Lagoon 42 is jammed, and although I've tried several different lubricants...

Re: Cost Comparison between Iridium Go & Iridium Go Exec

I think the elephant in the room in the debate Starlink RV v IridiumGo is that while in some cases it might well work currently in some places in the middle of the ocean there is no claim by the...

Re: Using a bridal on a mooring ball

Touché.

I wouldn't mind betting that there are few sailing couples out there that wish they had one on board.

Re: Using a bridal on a mooring ball

I would take issue with your contention that a bridle cannot be used at a wedding or the bride would have no use for one.

A different type of wedding or bride maybe, but as they say "whatever...

Re: Lagoon 42 vs everything else

Its no longer a anything that Seawind would put their name on. That patio door won numerous design awards and is the single most commented on item on the boat.

Any yet 99.9% of the photos show the...

Re: Lagoon 42 vs everything else

I'd be wary about putting too much stock in the Ruby Rose reviews.
Initially they were very good and then suddenly they were inconsistent after the Seawind 1600 review.
They could find little...

Re: Lagoon 42 vs everything else

I agree. If one is a weekend sailor then the Seawind is a better. However, if one intends going fulltime cruising then let's us not forget that narrow hulls are more weight sensitive and accordingly...

Re: Lagoon 42 vs everything else

[QUOTE=Sand crab;3350507]A Seawind 1250 is worth a look. I think some 1260s will be in your price range by then. You can save some bucks by looking at the older Leopard 40, 42, 43 etc as well as some...

Re: New Seawind - terrible helm

Correct me if I am wrong, but from my recollection the Seawind 1600 review was one of the early reviews done in France, which then featured on Seawind's website. It was obvious they were blown away...

Re: New Seawind Model - Announcement July 10

The early reviews were great to watch, then unfortunately they morphed into inconsistency. Pretty hard if you happened to be the manufacturer of say Neel Trimarans, who were on the receiving end of a...

Re: New Seawind - terrible helm

What I couldn't quite fathom was that his partner in many reviews stressed the need for a spacious cabin, with room for plenty of air movement ,yet ignored the fact that on the 1260 it is somewhat...

Really?

Look no further than this forum. Ever wonder why some contributors disclose they are a marine service provider?

However, I now see they intend buying...

Re: New Lagoon 42 Vs Lucia-40 ?

So in other words the L40 is a rebadged L39, but costing more, masquerading as a replacement for the L400?

Re: New Lagoon 42 Vs Lucia-40 ?

[QUOTE=tuskie;2565211]I totally agree with Rabbi on almost all his points regarding the L40. Perhaps I'm biased, but I honestly can't find a single improvement in the new L40 over the previous model...
