Re: Designing yet another BMS (yaBMS)

The open and close controls for the 7700 rbs need less than 100ma. The 7A switching current is supplied via the red wire and is not switched.

The auto release version (7713) needs around 30mA on...

Re: LiFePO4 Batteries: Discussion Thread for Those Using Them as House Banks

I don’t think I’m seeing this with my cells. My 200Ah Winston prismatics have a date stamp for May 2014. For about 2/3 of their life they have been isolated and stored at around 50% SOC. The rest of ...

Re: Balancer and BMS options

Oops, missed the last part of your question.

Yes, I would use the same equipment again.
If I needed to replace the Zeva and it was not available, I would consider the REC.

Re: Balancer and BMS options

I have been using the Zeva 8 cell battery monitor module and the Enerdrive ePro battery monitor for battery protection.
I prefer a simple, centralised BMS like the Zeva rather than a distributed...

Re: Winston LiFePO4 battery problem?

Cell voltage fluctuations could be caused by oxidised cell interconnects or bms connections.
I would lightly sand the interconnects and cell terminals, re assemble with a light smear of Aluminox and...

Re: First Charging and top balancing Lifepo4

Its definitely worth spending the extra time to get your initial balance correct.
One thing to be aware of is that the cell voltage imbalance is only observable at cell votages above around 3.5v....

Re: Sinopoly LiFePO4 instructions for storage.

Thanks John,
I think you hit the nail on the head there.
This would probably be the reason for the vendor advice.
But when you think about it how hard can it be, at design stage, to make sure the...

Re: Sinopoly LiFePO4 instructions for storage.

Thanks for those replies and link.

I’m really trying to dig a bit deeper for the Sinopoly cells info in particular.

The concensus opinion of 50% SoC has worked for me.

Ihave a 12 Volt 200Ah...

Re: Sinopoly LiFePO4 instructions for storage.

Hi Delfin

In my case, long term storage would typically be around 4 months.
This is probably not unusual for RVers not on the road permanently.

Re: Refrigerator/Freezer Recommendations??

They use the danfoss/secop BD135 and implement variable speed control for the compressor to optimize the power consumption.
The thicker insulation makes a huge difference the downside is it takes up...

Re: Refrigerator/Freezer Recommendations??

Check out National Luna.
Probably the best available but you’ll pay top dollar.
I have the 55litre model with the 60mm insulation.
Very happy with the performance.
