Mate “I’ll come on your boat and you can come on mine”
If one follows those simple instructions you won’t be replacing many spark plugs either.

Cape Fear sounds enchanting. Below Australia, in...

Re: Why are outboards so unreliable?

Oh well I can’t help but say this:
Lets put it this way “some humans should never touch machinery”
Look after it, it will look after you.

Re: Coolant drain plug(s) on yanmar 4JH4AE

Hi Cabo Jim,

What a good post, I’ve been hunting for my drains for almost a year but never thought of one near the water pump (which makes sense). The book and manual just doesn’t show enough....

As its goes Ive been getting my work done by them, as I age, so I’ll ask only to do the acid wash to the bootstrap area.

Thanks
Woody.

Re: Converting an anchor winch from 3 phase to single phase. Check my math. 😁

Exactly,
If its not broke don’t fix or you’ll “F” it.
This all about load, the power required is the same for both 3ph and single phase. 3ph gives a balanced load single phase adds new problems...

Re: Alternator output not constant

Hi Stormalong

I’m having the same issue of alternator dropping out with fully charged batteries. So I've added various loads to keep it ( the tacho) going. Running fans and so on.
I’ve been...

Re: Cutting fiberglass liner during sinking

Hi Esarrat

I hope you enjoy your boat.
Fothering is very difficult to perform.
Smashing fibre glass, with even an axe, is very difficult.
I don’t think you’ll ever hit anything hard enough to...

Re: Are wooden hull boats a viable option or should I steer clear?

Hi Ann,
Our double diagonal NZ Kauri yacht was launched in 1980 so it’s been mostly in the water almost 40 yrs. It’s never had a problem except when damaged after a collision with a submerged rock...
