Re: Converting 220v boat to 110v technical advice needed
I keep forgetting to look at the wires... How about one of these:176666 Won’t a 30a to 15a Adapter like this one do the job or do I still have to worry about the voltage? Also, my current (2... |

Re: Converting 220v boat to 110v technical advice needed
Great advice. I’m looking at the Victron Energy Isolation Transformer 2000W 115/230V now. I think this may be the solution as I intend to take the boat back to the Med next year. |

Re: Converting 220v boat to 110v technical advice needed
Yes. Sound sleep is important. I’m looking at the Victron Energy Isolation Transformer 2000W 115/230V to put somewhere between the boatside plug and the boat’s circuit breaker. Still have to get a... |

Re: Converting 220v boat to 110v technical advice needed
I’ve been reading all the suggestions of course. Thanks for all the advice btw. I think the transformer option is the easiest although I don’t really want to ADD more but yes, I don’t intend to be... |

Re: Converting 220v boat to 110v technical advice needed
I sorta had that for a month but we had wind so it didn’t feel that hot. Ahem... getting back to my problem: yes, wire changes seem to be the consensus at this time. Or a transformer which I... |

Re: Converting 220v boat to 110v technical advice needed
True but I don’t have anything sensitive on board (yet). From what I’ve read things with motors or high draw equipment are susceptible to the frequency change you mentioned. I only have a water... |

Re: Converting 220v boat to 110v technical advice needed
You mean the wires running to the electric outlets? I read (on the internet) that given how short the distances are (she’s a 44ft sailboat) wire size is not a significant factor. Is that info... |

Re: Convert from 240 VAC to 120 VAC
Thanks for the info. I checked out the isolation transformer. That’s a maybe due to its cost and my desire to keep it simple. I also saw marineco has an in-line 30a to 15a Adapter that can just be... |
