We had the same issue but in reverse. Wouldn't go down but came up. Turned out our anchor solenoid was in the bottom of a sail locker and one of the wires was pulled off.... most likely from...

Re: Battery steaming like a teapot

No, I have a Cristec charger with no digital display. It has 3 lights:

1. ON
2. Boost/Absorbtion
3 Floating

It was in Boost when I shut it down. I'm going to get the new battery in a bit...

Re: Battery steaming like a teapot

Thanks all. I shut the charger off first and the battery cooled down. I've removed it from the bank. How can I test the battery charger to make sure it isn't cooking the system?

Re: Bow thruster batteries on Beneteau oceanis

I have a 2014 Oceanis 45 with the same issue. When I go to reset the alarm it shows I'm still at 12.7v. The beeping is quite annoying.

Re: aviation gas for a 20hp yamaha

Schooner Dog. Lee Airport in Edgewater has ethanol free fuel for around $5.50 a gallon. I have a 10HP Honda that just loves it. It's the only place I know of near Annapolis that has it.

Re: carribean vs the other side

Ridiculous thesis. Because we have garbage men in the states who make a darned good living, we are enslaving them? Nuts. Go find a hammock under a palm tree and quit pondering such class warfare...

Re: Full-time sailing & Gabapentin, Neurontin, Gralise or Horizant

I take it but at a much lower dose. I'm on 300mg three times daily. Total of 900mg a day. It helps take the edge off but doesn't cause any side effects. I've been at this dose for a couple of...

Re: Benetau 38 options selection help needed

Congrats on the new boat. Make sure any of your boat mates in Sailtime understand the use of electric winches. Great power assist when needed but they can do a lot of damage when in the wrong hands.

Re: Shower in the Head: Separated Area with Glass or not?

I have a separate shower on our 45 and find that it really doesn't matter as we rinse the whole head down after showering. Helps keep it clean and fresh.
