Hi,
I'd support the others recommendations of Soller, Andraix, Formentera, Alcudia.
I think you might also like some of the bigger cities. Palma is well worth a visit.
Mahon is also lovely city...

Re: Sailing around Britain and anchoring in Scotland

+1 with the extra chain. We also carried 100m x 10mm and agree its proved useful.

Re: Greetings

Hi Jane,
I like to think my brains still young, but my wife says my body overtook it about 40 years back.........
But welcome to the site, and wish you good fortune finding that race crew.

Re: Hi from the road

Welcome Chris.
Might be a good idea to get some sailing experience in before you head off biking southward. Not too easy to find a sailboat needing novice crew so far south - but good luck in your...

Re: New member

Hi and welcome,
Well maybe you'll be sailing PAST Portugal and Spain. Going overland even in a Halberg Rassey could be a bit uncomfortable.:-)
Congrations, hope you enjoy the boat.

Re: Sailing around Britain and anchoring in Scotland

Hi Bob,
We covered 30,000 miles without ever needing a second anchor deployed, and we too found the Delta worked fine.
Good luck and enjoy the trip.

Re: Dousing My New Assymetrical With Sock

Leaving the mainsail to blanket the gennaker makes good sense.

You don't indicate what sized boat / sail but if it were me I'd not bother with a sock - invariably they foul up almost as many...

Re: Epoxy or polyester?

Araldite Epoxy would be fine. Check the product labelling as some of their adhesives are not.

Re: Narrowly avoided collision with motor yacht.

+1 - except I'm currently a stink potter some days, a sailor others.

But I would not think twice about lighting up the boat like a Christmas tree if I belived it would make us more visible in a...

Re: Me and My Plan

Yup. IMHO call her anything but wench.
There's absolutely no doubt it's the highest know reason guys give up cruising, so keeping the spouse happy has to be top of every list.
Enjoy

Re: Me and My Plan

Hi Nate,
Sounds like you've got it well sorted and I wish you every success. IMHO try and squeeze up to a 40 footer if you plan long term cruising especially in warmer waters. For sure you'll have...

Re: Why use flat webbing as jacklines instead of rope?

Reminds me of a young, keen and inexperienced sailor who joined us one weekend to be mastman for the days race. He was very keen, and worked for a chandler, and as a result had more new harness kit...

Re: Portable aircon on a boat?

Its not uncommon in some Turkish marinas for people to hire domestic aircon units, normally looking smaller than the one you've shown, and usually mounted either over atop hatch (so cold air in, hot...

From the recollection you've given, surely what you've said is the weather solved, rather than caused, the problem.
I'm with the others, specifically check it all out, but if you find nothing assume...

Re: Le Boat in France - canals/rivers

Hi Daz,
We spent two months last year on the French waterways. Le Boat craft can be seen in a few locations and appeared to be well kept - perhaps even above average.
Enjoy.

Re: Levkas to Marmaris in April

Hi,
We pushed our boat from Mallorca to Ayvalik in April 2006 and had everything from F2 to F8, mainly from the north. Blog of those passages at yotblog.co.UK/yachtswagman.
Cheers
