These portable refrigerator/freezer combos need lots of air circulation. I don't think it would last long in your scenario.
We have a Dometic and it works fine as long as it has plenty if airflow.

Our cruising for the next year or so is the Bahamas and the East Coast of the U.S.A.
I believe we can get along fine with a PLB, in these areas...

if it shows signs of wear, we flip it end for end and resplice. Next time we cut off a few feet and resplice again. Easy and cheap.
