Re: Anchorage outside of marina

They backed off. They called the CG when I was here before. The CG said it was an anchorage. As long as it's south of the shipping channel.

In my recent pictures, you can see the dredger. They,...

Re: Anchorage outside of marina

I am anchored. Not blocking the channel. Very close to shore. Not tied to the wall.

Re: Anchorage outside of marina

Here are a few pictures of me at anchor. Not in anyone's way. I have a bow anchor set and a stern anchor set. Tried to get further towards the center, but eventually gave up.

Re: Anchorage outside of marina

Small world. The anchorage is in the Grand River in Fairport. Anywhere south of the shipping channel. Basically south of Pickle Bill's. I wasn't going to say, but you did ask.

Re: Anchorage outside of marina

No problem with the CG. They were very polite and professional. Didn't board my boat. Just talked a while.

Re: Anchorage outside of marina

Should I pay to use the marina or just anchor out for the summer and worry about winter storage later? It's about $1400 for the summer. Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with paying.

It's funny...

Re: Anchorage outside of marina

I think it's mostly because I wasn't using a slip.

As far as I know, most boaters prefer you not to fish from the slips. Nobody wants fishing line to get caught up in their props.

Re: Anchorage outside of marina

The CG said we were fine. They checked their charts and had to call DNR to confirm the anchorage. Now that it's been confirmed, the marina is more angry. I suspect that is partly due to them thinking...

Re: Boat names.

Thanks for the replies. I am already aware of keeping it simple and such. I was just curious if others were less than amused by their boat names.

Anchorage outside of marina

Hi all. So, the other day, I inadvertently found an anchorage just out past 2 different marinas. Apparently neither marina nor the coast guard knew about the anchorage. One of them called the coast...

Boat names.

My 1979 C26 is named St. Nicholas. I guess it's because it has a red hull and white deck. While amusing, I don't like it. Not sure what name I would like. Perhaps no name or something about my home...

Re: Wanted - Your Favorite Recipe

This is my first boat with a galley. Is it ok to dump the boiling water from potatoes noodles, etc in the sink? Just curious. Thanks.

Re: Chrysler 26 sailboat

What do I need to know about solar setups? I found a 45 watt with a group 27 battery. Comes with charge controller and everything. I also found a 230 watt panel for $160. That would give me 275...

Re: Chrysler 26 sailboat

Yes, lol. I started laughing when it started. You aren't kidding. Feels like it's going to tip over for real. Is it because it is a deck stepped mast and not a keel stepped mast?

Re: Chrysler 26 sailboat

After watching some videos and reading many posts, I am confused about the furler drum. Mine is empty with the sail furled. Should the drum be empty or full when the sail is furled? Or does it depend...

Re: Freedom 24

It seems obvious to me. Has the features you want
and its in your price range. I vote for take it out and see if you like it. If it sails like you want, buy it. If not keep looking.

Re: Chrysler 26 sailboat

Well I am currently aboard the C26 and it's not moving at all. Currently in a slip on grand river in Fairport Ohio. Tomorrow morning I will be on the lake. I am in a fixed keel. Owner said 4 ft keel...
