Re: Recommendation for Marina in Ft Myers Area

Before we retired to cape coral, we left our boat for 3 months at Paradise Marina across the river from ft myers yacht basin. A small marina with a live aboard community and great rates.

Re: So what's the logic to the ICW bridges between Miami & Fort Lauderdale?

Not only the bridges, some folks with many more ponies under their hood think its a place to drag race making as big a wave as possible. When possible we went outside but weather often dictated the...

Re: I want to move to Florida

We bought a canal home in cape coral 19 months ago for retirement. 1/2 mile to the river, 8 miles to the gulf in an older neighborhood. Can't wait until retirement day comes so the boat is in the...

Re: Leaving boat in Florida (ICW)

If you're seriously considering Dinner key, go for the coconut grove sailing club. The sailing club is well protected and the other is very exposed to anything but west winds - talk about bounce!

Re: Affordable Moorings Florida?

Have you considered titusville, fl? Nice small town place with a helpful marina staff. Not as nice as cocoa (when did moorings go in?), but a reasonable price.

Re: St Lucie River Pollution Problems

We are seeing the same mess on the west coast from the Caloosahatchee. The tides are higher and on our canal, the water is so dark you can no longer see the bottom.

Re: Gemini?

We've got a '91 3200 Gemini that we've had for 5 years as the third ownwers. Yes, we've done some work over the years but no more than other boats we've owned. For the money, you can't beat these...

Re: moorings in coconut grove

We stayed at the sailing club and loved it! The city is not protected from anything east and looked very uncomfortable last spring. The sailing club also has a tender that picks you up at your boat...

Re: Gemini Centerboards. Need help

I've changed the boards on our 3200 and if you search the archives, you'll find lots of information.

I rebuilt mine and that was the worst of the work though putting them back in was no walk in...

Tacktick Wind All Dashes

Hey folks,

The weather is finally breaking here in FL and after an extended vacation from the boat, I found my wind indicator is displaying all dashes. So..... is it a mast head issue or the...

Re: Vero beach to coconut grove

There's a primary channel that as I remember (we were there in April and on a cat) is deep all the way in. The staff at CGSC are great and be sure to check out Jaguars restaurant.

We have a gemini 3200 powered with a honda 25 four stroke and after a day of motoring at 6 - 7 knots against the current (ICW) it's nice to turn it off. Can we carry a conversation while under way,...

Re: Little Harbor, Abaco

We enjoyed 3 days in little harbor last March on a mooring ball. There is a little room to anchor, but the moorings are cheap. The pub is a must stop place, the foundry nice but not the place to...

Re: Bahamas Cruising Areas - Recommendations Please

Yes, Nassau has water at the marinas, but before you fill your tanks, taste it! We were there last Feb. and the water was not RO, to say it tasted bad would be a huge understatement.

Wish I was...

Try the stainless steel stazo lock, we've used ours for 3 years and still looks good considering the environment. This sucker is built to take a beating and got a good review from practical sailor....
