Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

No. Mono vs. Multi...

My friend fstbttms enjoys chewing on my ankles, saying anything he believes will bring him a moment of fame and or attention... I'd simply describe him as usually...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

Encounters? You mean the other disruptive posts you've made in this thread? And no, there's absolutely nothing I've learned from them I didn't know before.

You're absolutely...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

Now that you've drivelled, have you anything relevant to say? In case you're unaware, this Forum prohibits giving out others contact information. Doh.

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

It's time for anyone who wants a sane, well organized Richardson Bay divided into anchorage and non-anchorage (mooring) zones to act. Accomplishing this goal will naturally address the problem...

Re: Merged Thread: New Zealand Yacht with One Deceased and Another Missing

The route between Fiiji and New Zealand can be a notoriously dangerous one. On record as one of, if not the worst is the 1984 Queens Birthday storm. Thus the reason I've elected to sail the route...

Re: Rarotonga Cook Islands Harbor

You may already know, but just in case you don't - med-mooring is required. Anchoring is prohibited. So, you'll need to have your stern lines to the jetty ready to deploy when you arrive. There...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

For further clarification. See the attached image showing the limits of the 'west' anchorage. Even though it is within Sausalito City Limits it is an RBRA anchorage where RBRA and not Sausalito...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

Point#1. The Marin Independent Journal is the mouthpiece for the Richardson Bay Regional Authority. So, anything the RBRA wants you to believe gets printed. And, in this case the RBRA wants folks...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

I vote anyone making this thread a platform for personal attacks find someplace else for it.

I've been holding back important information pending an uncertain outcome... Relevant to the subject...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

A diver told me a couple of days ago he, and three others own ten boats EACH, stored in the Bay on his "two point mooring systems". I wasn't expecting to hear anyone admit this, so the names went by...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

Take notice of the photos accompanying the article. They are not taken of boats on the Sausalito side. They're of some of the worst boats in Richardson Bay. But hey, waddya expect? Probably...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

The meeting you refer to was held in the Sausalito Fire Station at 5 p.m. yesterday.

It was presented by the Chief of police as a first of meetings to come, because quite frankly he nor anyone...

Re: Refusing Arrival Fees

Aemmm. Just make sure your passport isn't under the control of immigration before you 'bend' any laws. Refused to pay unexpected anchoring fees in Trinidad. The immigration official 're-filed' my...

Re: refusing arrival fees

Best if you can anchor and determine charges over the radio on arrival. Beware if the answer is you must come ashore to learn the answers, and or there is a language issue. Once ashore it's a...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

So, do you approve of bringing in moorings that benefit only the Jones and Smiths at the expense of everyone else? And in order to ensure the moorings are used, anchoring is restricted or...

Re: yacht wrecked, 2 dead, capetown

Indeed, they do. An otherwise uneventful approach to Hout Bay in January 2012 turned ugly for me when the 'Doctor' dropped in unnanounced. Short story is a torn main, uncertainty about 'which way...

Re: yacht wrecked, 2 dead, capetown

I've sailed that coast twice. On my first passage, I hove to for a quick nap. "Quick" can always be a very relative term when lying down for some rest. Anyway, I awoke uncomfortably close to a...

Re: Win 10 vs LINUX

Put simply. I ran a dual boot setup because CMAPECS with the CMAP world charts would only run on Windows. That is until I discovered OpenCPN. Oh happy day when I could finally get Windows off of my...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

THE POINT is you can range near and far, between Alaska and Southern California while taking a lot less time and effort than someone else with a smaller boat, single handing at that. And if you want...

Re: Richardson Bay liveaboards, heads up!

I'd like to see a pic of your boat. With the ground you cover the engine must be capable of moving your boat along at a healthy clip. You mentioned the boat length someplace in this thread, and as...
