Re: Greek Bareboat advice

We are chartering the Cyclades in September and after researching many charter companies we landed on Octopus Yachting. There weren't a ton of reviews for any of the companies, but what reviews I...

Re: Advice on Bareboat Companies in Greece

Thanks for the reply. I have checked into the DYC bases and they could be an option. However, I just wrapped up a completely atrocious charter with one of their Caribbean bases which is leaving me...

Re: St. Barts, St. Martin, Anguilla 7 day itinerary

Good reminder Zanshin. You should always have an escape plan if a swell comes in - even in the middle of the night. We've been rocked up and down a bit more than I'd prefer just from the wake of...

Re: St. Barts, St. Martin, Anguilla 7 day itinerary

We've been to Gustavia twice in late June/early July. Both times there haven't been any super yachts there so they let us side tie to the quay directly in front of the customs office. Makes it very...

Re: Nautitech build quality

Back from our charter so thought I'd post with my additional observations on the 44 Open.

First, I will say the boat seemed a bit faster on all points of sail compared to Lagoon, FP, etc... Not...

Re: Nautitech build quality

We have chartered the Astrea 42 two or three times and are now on our fourth day on a nautitech open 44. I’ve always liked the Astrea and feel like it strikes a nice balance for a charter cat. ...

Re: Getting to BVI

I just booked a trip to the BVIs for my family and a couple of my daughters friends. Have been down many times prior and used most every option to get there and back. It seemed to get tougher and...

Plotting and Sharing Proposed Itinerary

Hello,

I am arranging a two-week charter throughout the leewards with a group of mostly green crew. In addition to giving them the practical information they'll need for the trip I am hoping to...

Re: How is Greece or Croatia for new bareboat skippers?

We returned from our three week charter about one week ago. Have been dealing with catching up at home and at work since then. Also a minor bout of Covid seems to be running through our family -...

Re: How is Greece or Croatia for new bareboat skippers?

We are going to be on the boat for three weeks - starting in Split and ending in Dubrovnik. We might try to get down to Montenegro as well for a couple days. Certainly a long charter but travelling...

I can't comment on the sailing there yet, but we are headed to Croatia for our first time in a few weeks. We've chartered many times throughout the Caribbean but this will be our first Med charter....

Re: Charter Companies in Croatia

Hello again. Thank-you for all of the replies. I contacted Pitter and they were very responsive, but I'm not sure they have the ideal yacht for us. So, I reached out to a few more - Ultra Sailing,...

Re: Charter Companies in Croatia

I realize that we will not be protected in terms of us getting COVID and not being able to do the trip. We will purchase travel insurance for that and other issues that may arise. However, I have...

Re: Med-Mooring in Greece in June

I think that we have things narrowed down to two potential options that we're seriously considering.

Re: Med-Mooring in Greece in June

This sounds very appealing. I was looking at that as a possibility but figured the charter companies would likely not allow it. I guess though it's really no different than sailing from island...

Re: Med-Mooring in Greece in June

Thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement. Sounds like I shouldn't stress too much about it. I guess just put plenty of fenders out, don't go too fast, and bail out and try again if things...
