Re: Panama to Mexico (Sea of Cortez)

Cool, thanks. For the cash it's worth a download to check Part 1 out and go from there.

Much appreciated

Re: Panama to Mexico (Sea of Cortez)

Thanks for the feedback. Have you used it?

I only ask because we bought the rains guide for the Western Caribbean and found it was not worth the $$. It felt like it just tried to cover too...

Re: Does your high-water alarm sound in the cockpit?

Ours is ridiculously loud and no problem at all hearing it in the cockpit. In fact before we left to go cruising our primary bilge failed and a neighbor 1 pier over heard the noise and tracked down...

Re: Rio Dulce to Panama

So does this imply that Nov is the time for a trip like this?

We're liking the idea of an H-season in Rio Dulce. Followed by a cruise up through Belize and Mexico and then heading down to...

Re: Rio Dulce to Panama

How about making the run from the Cancun/Isla Mujeres area? Seems like it would improve the angle to the Vivarillos area, but not sure it’s enough with the current.

Re: Rio Dulce to Panama

Thanks Belizesailor. Would love to see the pics if you don’t mind reposting.

We’re still trying to decide if Rio Dulce and cruising Belize is worth the pain of having to bash our way East again...

Rio Dulce to Panama

Howdy Folks,

We're currently hanging in Grenada for our 1st hurricane season outside the US. Since we have so much free time on our hand, between boat projects we're starting to kick around a...

Vertical mounting Fortress anchor in roller

Howdy Folks.

We have a double roller on our bowsprit. Our primary anchor (Rocna) is on the starboard side and we typically like to keep a fortress connected to the secondary rhode and in the port...

Grenada Hurricane plan

Howdy Folks.

We’re slowly making our way down to Grenada for this H-Season. In preparation for that, we’re working to get our heads around what to do in the event a hurricane or tropical storm...

Re: How often do you expect to rebuild your head with full time use?

Howdy Peggie, probably a stupid question but...why not just remove the intake hose and squirt superlube into the intake?

Truly appreciate all the input.

Re: How often do you expect to rebuild your head with full time use?

Thanks Peggie and everyone else that chimed in. That I overtightened the discharge fitting seems likely, so I’ll start with replacing the 1 year old joker valve and see if the old one regains it’s...

How often do you expect to rebuild your head with full time use?

Howdy folks,

So we’re coming up on our first full year of cruising. I rebuilt our primary head (Raritan PHii) when we started and we just developed a slow leak at the joker exhaust outlet (joker...

Mantus Dinghy Anchor

We have the galvanized non breakdown model and have used it extensively for spearfishing and snorkeling. In fact, many times we had 1-2 other dinghies tied to ours because their little grapple style...

Re: Gulf Coast: How long to transit the ICW from Kemah, TX to Pensacola, FL?

Here’s another vote for heading outside and straight across. We opted for Kemah to Tampa. The rigs really are well marked and hard to miss. As mentioned they also show well on Radar. We had no issues...

Re: So, how hard do you scrub your bottom anyway?

Thanks fstbttms, was hoping to hear from you on this one.

I’d guess we give it a light scrub every month or 2. Not sure it’s actually required this often but seems to be easier if we keep up...

So, how hard do you scrub your bottom anyway?

Howdy Folks,

We're about 10 months into our first year of cruising, may there be many more to follow. Anyway, we typically do our our bottom scrubbing with a 3M pad, almost always the less...

Re: Thornless Path - 2017/2018

Sorry I missed this earlier. We’re currently in Georgetown and planning to leave Tuesday for a hope directly to Samana DR if the weather holds. Our current bailout spots are Luperon or TCI if our...
