Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

I really appreciate this information. Thanks, guys. I want to be one of the first people to shake the hand of each of these sailors when they are found.

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

Since we don't know their exact position when they became disabled(if in fact they are) or took to the raft, there is just too much chaos in the currents and eddys out there to use them to make any...

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

I agree, keeping Aircraft and ships well advised, as well as private yachts, is the best search for the moment. One never knows what one will come across in the pacific.

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

Every one has a point of view and entitled to it. These guys have a much clearer picture of where the nina should be based upon the models. There is another step in process. Until they find...

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

Thanks for the support brother. I was asked to stay off the topic, but you guys won't let me.

Let's focus on looking for solutions. Any of us could be in this situation. I love all of you guys,...

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

Sheesh... I think I said the best people to do this search is the government.

My role is to support the families, and to advocate for people who have no voice, but a lot of value.

Just out of...

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

Let's stay focused on finding solutions rather than burning volunteers.

We know the yacht survived the two storms because a text message was sent afterwards. There is no point in criticizing RCS...

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

I will abide by the rules, I guess I should have read them.

Best of luck to all of you, and especially to those who are stuck on a boat in the middle of the Pacific.

Re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

Actually, they did a very sophisticated current analysis. None of those results puts the Nina in the South Pacific.

As to survivability, Glennie survived with three other sailors for 119 days...

Looking For Life Raft/Lost At Sea Survivor

I am working on a project. One of our ideas is to interview a person who has been lost at sea. Does anyone know of a living lost-at-sea story, including name?

Re: Checklist For Voluntary Crew

Great posts, and nice chance to play a bit, too! Back to the point, what can a captain do to insure the best possible experience for his crew, I am speaking prior to departure?

I find the diversity in crews a wonderful thing. It is great to learn from other cultures, and a cruise gives you a keen idea of how others think and what their customs are. Just a point of view. ...
