Re: nearly lost my boom.

Thanks everyone. Ann I am sure you are right about me being too heavy handed, the undersized comment only referred to the diameter of the vang attachment which does not fit the vang diameter...

Couple days ago in a decent wind while relaxing for a bit I just happened to look at the attachment point of my main sheet to the boom, which is mid boom via a traveler. (Islander 28). The stainless...

Re: Aftermarket parts from China can be a very good deal

Re: Mac vs PC in marine environment

I think a good solution for USB and HDMI port corrosion is to use pigtail connectors. Seal your motherboard case, lead the pigtails outside the case. On the female end of the pigtails, first connect...

Re: Interoperability between OpenCPN(s) & Devices

I would like to see a gRPC interface on the OCPN API. OCPN would be a gRPC server. Keep the API the same and focus on hardening it. Force all the customization outside OCPN. You don't even need a...

Re: Climbed the mast (solo). Notes for those who may be considering

I think the key to my solo mast climbing security is the grigri. I want to call this device out specifically for making solo mast climbing seem secure. More so than with ascenders or pruisk alone.
