Re: Tobago 35 or Lagoon 37, which would you choose?

I was also considering a Lagoon 42, but missed out on the opportunity. It seems they are very popular, regardless I have no regrets. While on this topic, the Lagoon 47 looks like an even better cat,...

Re: Tobago 35 or Lagoon 37, which would you choose?

Hello,
I have owned a Lagoon 37 for a couple of years now. I bought it in Tortola, BVI and sailed it to Florida immediately after the purchase, without any incidents. Like you, I was undecided...

Re: Perkins Perama M20 Electrical Fault

I have a Perkins M20 diesel on a catamaran and after turning the toggle switch on to start the engine, nothing happens. Usually the alarm light and buzzer are immediately activated, after which the...

Re: Lagoon 37 Internal halyards

Mark,

Thanks, I thought that was the case and maybe it was a wire-rope halyard where I'd seen it before. Unfortunately, the spinnaker (?) halyard was accidentally pulled through before I...

Lagoon 37 Internal halyards

Hi,

Are the internal halyards of the Lagoon 37 passed through respective internal tubing within the mast. I don't see any indication on the outside of the mast of internal tubing, so my guess is...

Re: Tobago 35 or Lagoon 37, which would you choose?

I was under the impression that the upper part of the Tobago hull was foam cored. I almost bought a Tobago, which is a good looking cat, but ended up buying a Lagoon 37. Although I didn't get a...

Re: Lagoon 37 vs Leopard 38

From my experience with the cat, she sails at about half the wind speed. On a reach in about 21 knots of wind, she reached a speed of approximately 11 knots with main and genoa, without any reefing....

Re: Lagoon 37 vs Leopard 38

Thanks for the details. What I can share is that compared to a performance cat, the Lagoon 37 is a stable, strong, comfortable cat that is quickly appreciated when the wind exceeds 15 to 20 knots...

Re: Lagoon 37 vs Leopard 38

I assume they're reinforced below the waterline to make up for the composite construction. I also own a Conser Warrior cat and it's also composite below the water line, but very solid near the...

Re: Lagoon 37 vs Leopard 38

I'm not aware of any cats that are necessarily cored below the waterline. Regardless of the type core, they are generally cored above the water line and solid below. I don't see any advantages of...

Re: Lagoon 37 vs Leopard 38

I own a Lagoon 37 and I'm perfectly pleased with it's construction characteristics, which include a balsa core. I believe most South African cats are balsa-cored also.
