AIS is fantastic but not essential for safe passage. It's just another tool that we are privileged to have at our disposal. Any vessel should be able to sail safely without any electronics

I bought a cheap temp gage on ebay strapped the sensor on to the exhaust hose just before it exits the boat. Raw water in the exhaust chamber keeps temp down to between 35 and 40c in caribbean...

I have a 22 " 19v one i bought a 12v to 19v dc to dc converter rated at 4 amps works great for me
