I sailed on a Stevens 47 (Arielle) in 2009 from Saint Maarten to (and thru) the Panama Canal. The owner was sailing home to New Zealand and was hoping to sell it there for $220K (US). There's been...

Re: 49 ft sailboat Costa Rica to Fench Polynesia

Hi! My girlfriend and I would be interested! I have a decent sailing resume with about 20,000 miles at sea and my girlfriend, while less experienced, seems to have taking a liking to the wind and...

Re: Bluewater Circumnavigation Capable Sailboat 50K

Just e-mailed a sailing friend that was living in or near Kemah and might have her look at the Cabo Rico Tiburon 36. Lots of new (shiny!) parts and pieces but wondering how much is left to be done!...

Re: Cape Horn and Falklands - November 2012 - Jan 2013

Jesper-

It is my belief - although I have never taken a formal survey - that most people on this site looking for a crew position are not looking to pay $850 per week or $3,400 per month to sail...

Re: Cape Horn and Falklands - November 2012 - Jan 2013

$850 per week or 550EU per week is not (IN MY OPINOIN) cost sharing. That sounds like charter or sailing school prices. Expense sharing might be more like $5 - $20 per day and would possibly even...

Re: Bluewater Circumnavigation Capable Sailboat 50K

Great suggestions all! A few that don't have an aft stateroom, not center cockpit and that is almost a deal killer (just a personal preference).

I couldn't find a listing for the Westerly...

Re: Bluewater Circumnavigation Capable Sailboat 50K

By the way, the Islander 36 is almost what I am looking for less the aft stateroom. An older boat but one that was refitted extensively in 2008 for Zac Suderland to go around. Now that Zac is back...

Re: Bluewater Circumnavigation Capable Sailboat 50K

I've given plenty of thought and time to what I want and I fully realize that finding true turn-key may not be possible. However, near turn-key is possible and near $50K is possible as some of these...

Re: Bluewater Circumnavigation Capable Sailboat 50K

The Pacific Seacraft looks nice but is not a center cockpit and therefore lacks the aft stateroom.

Additionally, "Under sail she’s generally considered a slow boat, expect to clock regular 100...
