Oh, the fittings are the hose barb attachments. My thought was why would you restrict the fuel flow with a 1/4 hose barb from the fuel tank when you could with 5/16 or 3/8?

They are metal, and I can file them so they're soft. I don't have a magnet now so I don't know if they are stainless or not

I managed to download the assembly print for the pump. It doesn't show any springs. Am I missing something? I didn't find any springs while disassembling. The seals require a press to assemble...
