Re: Engine seems to start but rolls to a stop

Re: Running a two stroke from a large static tank? How to deal with mix?
One of the concerns you expressed was the availability of parts in isolated regions. It is reasonable, even recommended to carry those bits which can immobilize the engine but are relatively easy to... |

Re: Seawater strainer filling with air
I don't have any new suggestions for your immediate issue, but I do have 2 that can help with early warning of low raw flow. 1. What is the condition of your anti-syphon valve? It could well... |

Re: Rooting the grooves in Teakdeck deeper, what to use to guide the rooter
I did an entire floor with a router and a v-groove bit. Put 2 screws through the router base so the points just engaged the existing grooves as a guide. Simple, very easy. Of course had to finish... |

Re: Electric Air Inflator for Dinghy?????
We used this one from West Marine. Worked great on all our inflatables, dink, SUP, kayaks, etc. Also deflates. Swapped the battery clips for plugs that matched our 12v sockets. More expensive... |

Re: Low output stove burner
Yes, and that is a problem with gas jets. A bit too aggressive with a welding tip cleaner can easily enlarge the jet with possibly undesired effects. A welder just adjusts the flame to compensate... |

Re: Bukh DV20 would thermostat stop it running?

Re: Engine oil analysis
No idea re the oil analysis, but ... Regarding the overheating: As you are on the hard, this is a good time to go over the entire raw water side of the cooling system. Remove the HX (and oil... |

Re: Fresh water system won't pressurize
When you say small pressure tank, I assume you are referring to a pressure accumulator. It may have lost air pressure in the bladder. If so, re-pressurize it with a bicycle pump. |

Re: Impossible to find a Volvo mechanic
Regarding the Heat Exchanger, should you "go it alone" search this forum for Volvo 2002/2003 cooling issues. Removing/replacing the HX involves hard plumbing and fiddly-little seals. So read a few... |
