Weather Forecasts: Key West to Panama

We'll be leaving soon and would like to know the best way to stay on top of the weather when out of VHF range. We do have SSB but rarely use it. We plan on heading to the Yucatan and then following the coast while staying off the reefs. We draw 6.5 ft and cruise at 7 knots.
Any and all advise will be helpful.

Re: weather forecasts for Key West to Panama

UGRIB & Passage Weather have a 5 & 7 day forecast you can download. I found UGRIB very exact while leaving Panama. Also there is Chris Parker, google the name, and he is very accurrate. He has individual for pay, cheap. He also has a very good generic forecast. He took us between 2 systems while leaving Bimini on a straight a shot to Jax Fl..........i2f
