Intoxicated

Please bare in mind I'm very ignorant of everything on a sailboat. From the blogs I've read it seems like there is a lot of drinking going on. So are sundowners always alcoholic? Do you drink while sailing? And are those that use alternative intoxicants like Marijuana shunned from the other Sailors?

We're all a bunch of pot smoking alcoholics stoned on Acid especially when sailing.

You are the one you have to worry about. Do what is best for you as long as you don't run into me while intoxicated.

Everyone using drugs on your boat; speak up!

Alcohol... Pot... Gay.... whatever... thats down to the individual.. if they're nice folk I'll hang with them as long as they don't 'Push' their habit on me....
What I do hate on a boat is a 'Projectile Vomit'er'.... just can't help but join in:p

I've been known to "get high" on stugeron :)

Bergovoy 18-01-2011 10:24

im not a big drinker although i have drank more in the last month then i have in the last year... my alcohol has to be flavored with sugury stuff for me to get it down, and i cant drink that much before i eitehr lose it or wake up all icky the next day... i cant imagine being drunk on a boat... hmm

as for the other stuff, i would be too afraid of being boarded and searched and all that from the coast guard and all the post 9/11 stuff to want anything on my boat...

it would be my luck to be boarded and find a roach or seed or something and get hauled away to guantanamo...

I agree boatman, I don't really give a flip what others do, as long as they don't bother me with thier habit.

I too, sadly to say, am a sympathy puker. :whistling:

Sailing is no different from other recreational endeavors like duck hunting or curling.

Some people focus on the game, while others use artificial stimulants to get their rocks off...:)

I just read. "Life" by Keith Richards and I had to get that book off my boat. If the CG boarded me and saw that, I'da been tossed in the brig for sure.

I have almost concluded that there is nothing better on earth than sitting in the cockpit at the marina and drinking with friends and family as the sun goes down.

But, I will probably need to do it a few hundred more times before I'm absolutely sure.

Thanks for the responses guys! Just one of those things I was curious about. I'll probably have more "special" questions since there aren't any dumb ones. ;)
