Martin Heard Gaffers & Luggers

Just wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge of Martin Heard boats constructed at the Gaffers & Luggers Yard in Corwall, England. My "Holy Grail" of boats has always been the Bristol Channel Cutter from the Sam L. Morse Company, but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford one. I recently stumbled on these lovely yachts from Martin Heard - specifically his "Falmouth Working Boat" 28'. It's strikingly similar to the BCC28, but they seem to be about 1/3 the cost.

I've been perusing the website: Gaffers and Luggers Association - just wanted to hear your thoughts.

Re: Martin Heard Gaffers & Luggers

i second the question, though i suspect all brokers reading here upping the prices on those :D

Ish, there are a lot of different yards in England building smack and quay
punt type of boats. There are some affordable Wood and CF ones on ApolloDuck.
Cornish Crabbers are also modernised Smacks in GRP. same price range as BCC though.
Heard's and Cornish are Gaff rigged unlike the BCC's Marconi Cutter Rig, in case you missed that.
