Noob to Sailing

Hello, All!

I'm a Navy vet, former teacher, and current restaurateur who is slowly but surely being convinced to leave it all behind and live aboard a sailboat with my significant other.

Thanks for having me aboard. I'm sure I'll ask a million ridiculous questions, and a few sensible ones.

FWFS,
Beth

"Kid Charlemagne" is most likely the name of the sailboat we have yet to purchase. LOL

welcome kid,

I too am feeling the pull, but am not ready to leave as I still have 4 years left on active duty until retirement. Then maybe I can cast off.

I will be watching and adding my own questions too.

Jay

Can't wait to hear your questions.
There are so many interesting aspects to cruising and lving on a sailboat from the people you meet, to the incredible scenery, being so close to the weather and its changes, navigation skills, and the mechanical skills you wil learn as you keep your boat afloat.

You will find a very good market for purchasing a boat, but take your time and really chew on the variables before you buy one. Once you select one, you may need to stick with it for a long time. :)

This forum will save you years of research. Enjoy!
