Where Can I buy a ICOM 802 SSB Radio?
Where can I buy a new (or used) ICOM SSB Radio? Defender and West Marine don't have any for sale. Amazon says "don't know when it will be available."

Re: Where Can I buy a ICOM 802 SSB Radio?
ICOM temporarily took their M802 radio off the market pending approval of an FCC waiver. That waiver should be adopted shortly so the wait shouldn't be much longer.

Have a friend with the same delima. Apparently this is a USA issue only, so they are available for export to other countries.

If you are still looking, there's a clean used one at Mike's Electronics in Fort Lauderdale. He's an Icom dealer and does a lot of export business as well.

Re: Where Can I buy a ICOM 802 SSB Radio?
Some other posting else where say that Icom is not going to go with the waiver, even though the FCC has pretty much stated they will issue one.

the problem is on the emergency transmit it is not a full 5 mins, but 4:59 mins.
another factor is the the Icom M802 is not EU approved and may not be installed nor used in the EU waters.
Another problem is not meeting some spec above 100 watts.

Thats all i know, have read in different forums.

There was a mention of of an 810 coming out to replace the 802.
