Its going to be a black and blue ride in a big sea - drawings are missing interior grab handles! Folk are going to learn to fly around that saloon when the going gets rough.

It's ... a sloop? That doesn't seem very Amel to me.

Seems like a good step forward for this company.

Re: The new Amel 50

Well, it "promises superb sensations", and who could really ask for more than that? Assuming they stick with the normal Amel build quality and offshore characteristics (and get the balance on that big stern right), this should be a really attractive boat to a lot of potential buyers and a fine offshore sailor. Points for thinking outside the box a bit. That bunk-bed cabin would make a heck of a nice work room...

She's a beauty; however no skeg hung rudder?

No, double rudders (like new HR44). They however say rudders are linked in a watertight separate bulkhead. Also no weird transmission

Re: The new Amel 50

square port lights.. ugh..

Among the innovations on this new model, the choice of a straight, powerful bow is a break from the shipyard’s habits. The waterline is extended to improve performance, making the front part of the boat more spacious. The flat, wide stern, with a midship beam that extends to the rear, offers great dimensional stability and increases comfort at sea. The choice of this feature required twin rudders, something new for AMEL, allowing the boat to maintain great manoeuvrability under sail. Extended by the bow sprit, the inverted deck line refines the profile of the superstructure.

I like it. Will the first of the new model be Delos 2?

Looks like the typical generic Euro barge.
