Upgrading A/C Intake Straining in HOT water
Friend's Boat (new to them) in the SE USA, 90-100 degree air temps w/ hi humidity = A/C on constantly .......which mean constant intake of very warm (hot to me) brackish water along with all the living creatures & all the other junk floating in the slip.

The smallish strainer with old metal basket + lines downstream & even upstream (sometimes) have to be constantly cleared when A/C unit errors out. Owner is not a happy camper:banghead:

Reading old threads, upgrading the Strainer to a larger Groco (or similar) seems to be a popular approach.

Was wondering if Multiple (internal) Strainers ........similar to Fuel handling would cut down on "stuff" getting "upstream" and might help to stretch the clearing interval just a bit?

Or no matter what is installed, is this just part of the "joy" of summer living in a Tropical area with global warming?

Thanks in advance:cool:
