Boat bashed in by Irish Sea

Here's a news item about a boating accident on the Irish Sea. A wave bashed in the windows and overturned the boat, throwing the crew into the water.

10 people on an 18-foot rigid inflatable?

Looks like it can happen. I stand corrected. Still, seems like a lot of people for that size inflatable.

It wasn't bashed in, and an 18ft RIB has no windows, as far as I know. It was swamped by a wave.

How is the swamping of an 18ft RIB relevant to a cruiser's forum?

Just heard this morning that the strike (or whatever ya wanna call it) has ended, and life is back to normal in Noumea. We're around 50 miles northwest of the big smoke, and out in the boonies, so we couldn't tell what was going on in the city. Some sort of agreement was signed, but just what concessions were made by either side is yet unknown to us.

I'm glad it's over.

Jim
