Re: broken table light the second....
Thousands of options for lighting. Depends on what you want, need and like.

Not sure what you mean by the cockpit table light shaft. Is a light shaft like a light saber?

Sorry, just kidding but I couldn't resist but just to be clear.

You have a table in the boats cockpit and somewhere there is a light for that area? What kind of light and what is this shaft that is breaking? Perhaps a flexible, gooseneck design or something different?

Then, where does the light mount? Is this a sailboat or power IE is there a boom over the table. Is there a bimini top over the cockpit? Where does the wiring for the light come in? All these issues may or may not effect what kind of light you want to use.

Re: broken table light the second....
you are right...

There is a special plugin in my table, perhaps a cigarette plug? I am not sure, I don`t smoke....

Into this I can put the shaft of the lamp. It looks like a bedside locker light.
Not a flexible shaft one. It is with such an umbrella cover. (Right word? English is not my motherlanguage.....)
The down end of the shaft content the electrical female part. The shaft is a paper thin stainless stube, ready to bend and break easily.
It is a sailboat (with boom) and a bimini. The bimini frame is not free to hang on a light.
