extra length attachment to message 1 We then dropped in slightly smaller tanks which will be a direct lift out if they need servicing. The new tanks sit on a set of teak sticks which are glued to the plywood support, so that water cannot collect under the tanks.

Somehow I accidentally got a question from you on replacing the water and fuel tanks in a 1981 CT47. The water tanks were a piece of cake except the companionway prevents full size tanks from coming thru. The fore tank barely would not fit, I had to have it chopped and welded. A bit smarter, I got two matching tanks for the aft and hooked them up together. Forward I put the waste tank on top of the water tank for easy cleaning. Aft I left the old waste tank in place. Fuel tanks a total zoo. they were basically built into the boat. After a lot of review and head scratching, (we had no choice, the tanks were leaking): We cut the tops out of the tanks with a good jig saw, and then sectioned the tanks with a minimal blade length reciprocating saw, (this is not for the faint of heart, wear googles and gloves).
