    Hi
I believe you sent me a pvt. message about how we get 200 mile days in my cat?
Day as defined by 24 hours.
Well first we need enough wind to obtain 8.3 knots.
If we are sailing a long distance say more than 100 miles we will motor in winds less than 6-8 however we can motor at 8-9 knots in flat water. We have 2 40 hp Yanmars.
Honestly for short distances we would rather sail so we theoretically would not do 8 knots all the time.
We are use to trade wind conditions 18-20+ so no problem, however here on Long Island Sound it would be a lot slower but we don't really go very far here so we choose to sail slower.
I have had the boat in the Caribbean for 4 years and brought it here for new sails and some work last spring.
We are heading back in the fall and will again welcome those trade wind conditions.
    Ciao
    Rusty
