Biography

My husband and I are embarking on a dream we have shared 40+ years. We purchased our boat, Jaja, in 2012, in Saint Maarten, sight unseen! Had a very good rapport with our young German sellers, who had been sailing the Caribbean with their two small children for the past 12 months. Had the boat surveyed in St. Lucia, and we purchased it in Saint Maarten. Our process was seamless, but there was a lot of paperwork and preparedness to do in advance. Our sailing life started out about 30+ years ago with a 16 foot catamaran, then an 18 foot Hobie cat, a 23 foot Aquarius, A 32 foot C & C, and now our catamaran. We are planning to live aboard, and head toward the Bahamas this January. We intend to do it "for as long as it's fun" borrowing the Pardy's sentiments, and I hope that means years on Jaja exploring! Looking forward to many happy hours exploring all the wisdom and sage advice found in this forum! Fair winds and following seas!
