    Hi Erika,

    I don't know if you remember me, but I replied to a note your mom placed in "Cruising World."I'm "Ken" and I live in NC.The last time I talked with you, you were living on your boat on the Texas coast. I was just wondering how things were going for you, and If you have found your soul mate to sail away with? I'm not sure what happened with us? Maybe I came on too strong and scared you off? Anyway, I do still share the dream of living aboard and sailing. My youngest son and his family have moved to Asheville and are planning to buy my house. Soon I hope to ship out. I would love to hear from you if even to share stories and challenges. I hope to hear from you soon. Take care!

    thanks erika, it's my first real total restoration of a sailboat. i've remodeled several houses and built my music studio and my yurt but never been through a whole boat before. fortunately a good friend of mine from olympia wa who was a liveaboard for many years is here in eugene for a few months and he's gonna help me go through my westerly, once we're done gussying up the house a little!

    what's it like sailing on the gulf? the oregon coast is not frequented by too many recreational sailors (but it's the only coast i have and is really beautiful).

    it's nice to make contact with other sailors/cruisers!
