Biography

Originally from Minnesota, I joined the military straight out of high school more because I didn't know what I wanted to do rather than the whole "see the world" excuse that everyone gives. I immediately fell in love with the ocean and started doing as many things as I could to stay near it (see hobbies). So far, I have been stationed in three different locations in the US, and seen over 18 different countries. Most people would say that I have seen enough and want to settle down after my military career, but I would say that it has only sparked my curiosity for other places and cultures that I have yet to see and want to venture all over the world after I get out of the military. Sailing is the best way to do so in my personal opinion. I started out by crewing for my friend who did some local races in the Hampton Roads area on the Chesapeake. While I was on shore duty, I helped deliver sailboats down the East Coast, sometimes to the Bahamas. I have also completed ASA 101 through ASA 104 and I am looking to continue my education with who ever is willing to give me time on their boats.
