Hi, I just got your message. I loved that boat!
No, I had never heard of any damage or core issues before or after I purchased her. There sure wasn't any apparent glass damage that I could see... and I've got a pretty good eye for that. The port engine was replaced at low hours though... I wonder if that was the "damage". If I remember right a Doctor in West Palm owned the boat prior to my purchase. One rudder had some wet core that turned up in my survey and that was repaired by Crackerboys near West Palm, FL.
For some reason I thought the 42 was only cored above the waterline, but I guess that is not the case from your finding. Any idea where the water came into the core at? I hated those plastic Seacocks and replaced one under the port aft berth while we were in Trinidad.
Please send me any updates you have, I'm just interested I guess.. often wondered how long the "Ester N" people kept her, where they traveled etc.
my email is fawnfolly at yahoo dot com.
