Hello Larry,

I read a couple of your posts in the relationship vs. sailing thread and just wanted to say I feel for you. I've also experienced that many can not comprehend what sailing really means. The don't get that it is more than a recrreational activity. I have a long history of conflict between realtionships and sailing. In the end, I've never been able to give up the sailing. I can't say, that the choices have been right or wrong. It's just unfortunate life has yet to offer an option of both instead of having to choose one or the other.

Like you I often find e-mails or forum participation are often more about figuing out my own views on things than advising others.

I see you are from WI. I now live in Iowa, but grew up in Wisconsin and cruised on Lake Superior for a summer before taking my boat to warmer climates.
