Hi Jacob. A Google search for sailing schools in norfolk led me to your posts on this forum. It seems that I'm just a few years behind you with similar intentions. I learned to sail while I was in Pensacola and got basic keelboat certified. Now in Norfolk, I'd like to continue with mode classes (103 and 104 specifically) at Sailtime in VB. Did you end up taking classes there and if so what did you think? I won't be eligible for retirement for another 12 years but would certainly like to spend some time cruising around wherever I get stationed next and then maybe the Caribbean eventually. I'm not sure if your active here anymore, but if so I have several mode questions! Thanks.
Will do! Now, I have added another 125 Watt of Solar panels for a total of 380Watt and 3 panels... I designed the arch (Cheap) myself and it has been in place for now a full 2 years without any issues, I could share the design and pics if you are interested... New frig compressor and evap to seperate the freezer from the refrigerator so now we have a true Freezer, the temp goes down to -15F!!! I installed the Compresor in my Starb locker. I also installed a 200 Watt Inverter to be able to use the Microwave while cruising... And I have 2 4D Lifeline as House bank. I should get to the SSB in 2012. Let's keep talking.
I am alphabravo2, Carpe Diem is an Oceanis 400 and I keep her in Port Aransas TX. I am preparing her for cruising at the moment waiting for my business to be sold and hopefully cashing in on the severance so we can GOOOO!!! Do you have an SSB on board, I am looking for ideas on where to install it; I have the 2 caBIN OWNER'S VERSION AND THERE IS NOT A LOT OF SPACE ABOVE THE CHART TABLE....
