Just noticed your post. The Morgan 41 is one of the strongest
built boats I believe. Not clumsy but does not do so well to windward. I have not had her over 45 K winds but at that she handled herself very well and took the swells in her stride taking very little water over her bow. She has a solid fiberlass hull with no foam and is many times more stronger then the foam core ones today and more flexible. The mogan I have has a history of over 90,000 miles blue water sailing and is still in great shape. Google Boisye Day the original owner and you will get lots of info. Good Luck.

Yes I am getting very itchy to start working on the boat. I prefer to work on it when the temp. is over plus 10. So I will wait a few more weeks. There is still a little ice in the Lahave River. Not much but should be gone in a week. I hope to have the boat in the water by May 2nd.

The cal is a great boat. It's fast and comfortable. I live on mine full time and find it has plenty of room for me. It's a deep draft boat though (6 foot) and depending on where you intend to cruise that might be a consideration.

It doesn’t have much storage space. That is my biggest complaint. There are large lockers under the settees in the cockpit but they are hard to get to and if it's raining everything gets wet while your digging through what ever is on top to get what ever you need which always seems to be on the bottom.

It's an easy boat to single-hand. Especially if you have a wind vein. The only real problem I've had is that the windows are old and are starting to leak. That is my spring project this year. Not a huge deal but like all boats they take maintenance.

    Tim
