You always seem to have all the answers so... I am asking you:


I am a Sea Scout leader and we just last year had someone donate a 1976 Westsail 32 and we have a problem... (Of course... It is a boat)


The boat has a new bottom job and it is keeping the growth at bay but, the PO looks like he did not coat or treat the prop and this poses problems with maneuvering and motoring under power.


The prop appears to be possibly the original bronze prop.


I would like to know what I can do to at least slow down the growth to match the once a month hull cleaning. Thank you.

No I did not coin the word Covidiot. A mayor in Hawaii used it to describe three mainlanders that were breaking the stay at home regulations and which were arrested and deported back to their States. His use of the word and the need to enforce the emergency orders publicized the new word, but he also indicated that he did not coin the term but found it quite exact and appropriate. Take care.

My name is Glenn and I saw your post on Gel coat cracks from 04.
I'm thinking of buying a 1998 Sabre 402 that is otherwise immaculate except for severe gel cracks all over on the top sides. If you have any info on this would be greatly appreciated. My mane concern is that it is structural. Most people say no. I would like the boats gel to be refinished, if I could get her for the right price. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much

I saw your post today on the relion batteries, and also another post from a lith ion battery technition a few days ago. I read a link to his website and it scared me away from that technology. I just seemed WAY to complicated and too many things can go wrong. It sounds like you need a special charger, and a bunch of other things to make them safe to use. And also he said that there is only one manufacturer that made a lith ion marine battery. Can you tell me your thoughts in a simple way that might change me back to using them?
I wonder if I will only be able to chartge them with solar panels. It sounds like you can charge with a max 50 ams. Alternator is more than that. Need a special house charger I think. ETC.

I own a C&C 35 III and I have replaced the rudder which has lead to all kinds of issues. The yard heated the puck to get the gross threaded nut that was over tightened by a very smart Engineer, and they seem to have misplaced some parts and the yard employee that took it apart is no longer here.

The bottom sleeve bearing is there and I have a zerk fitting. I have noticed that my lower bearing has slid up a little and will have to try to get it back down.

On reassembling the rudder, there is a lot of play.

They are trying to shim it up but there is a lot of shimming and the rudder was smooth, no play or slop and worked fine before.

Is there another Delrin sleeve up top?

Did they potentially cook the upper ring and loosen that when overheating the puck?

Please help or direct me if you know anyone that can help.
